the genesis of TLL has always been rooted in harnessing the power of life sciences discoveries to impact lives and societies.
The first decade saw TLL and her team at the forefront of life science research, building a reputation of excellence and creating a host of solutions for the benefit of mankind. In the second decade, TLL embarked on a remarkable journey of hope and impact.
Today, we continue to be a leading institution that contributes actively to the creation of new economic opportunities, opening doors of knowledge for Singapore and the region, with advancements in science and nature.
From innovative solutions in nutrition security, to landmark discoveries in sustainability and well-being, TLL has become the catalyst for a better world. Meeting the evolving needs of communities in Singapore and beyond, as the future becomes more complex and diverse.
Much remains to be done. The long-term well-being of our community lies in exercising synergistic collaboration across domains, furthering strengths in plurality, and creating a people-centric focus to uplift lives at a local and global scale.
Albert Einstein once said, “One thing I have learned in a long life: that all our science, measured against reality, is primitive and childlike – and yet it is the most precious thing we have.”
I wish to thank all TLL staff and scientists, past and present, for their dedication towards the world of life science explorations, ultimately creating a world of expertise.
I look forward to working with TLL’s Board and executive team to overcome today’s challenges, emerging stronger as a preeminent organization of global talent that undertakes cutting-edge, bio-molecular science research and applications to benefit people in Asia and beyond.
